Your Wedding Event...
It is rare to find any officiant's web page where 'money' is discussed. This is unfortunate . . . When you are planning a wedding, costs are an important consideration (!), and though I don't enjoy discussing 'business', I believe in being honest and up-front about anything concerning your wedding, including these costs... |
Weddings & Rehearsals throughout Vermont:
I live in Newport, in the northern Vermont region known locally as "The Northeast Kingdom".
I have officiated over 250 ceremonies, virtually everywhere in Vermont - the summits of Jay Peak, Okemo, Stratton and Ascutney, rustic and romantic venues in Weston, St. J and Richmond, Stowe resorts, scenic overlooks in Burke and Lyndonville, historic inns in Woodstock, Middlebury and Manchester - and am willing to travel anywhere in Vermont ...
... but I will need to account for my travel time & mileage in my quote.

* REHEARSALS: What exactly happens at a rehearsal? Do we need a rehearsal? see Your Rehearsal!
* MEETINGS: I do not charge for a meeting, but will need to charge for travel time and mileage.
> You could come to Newport! > Can we do a virtual meeting? > Do we really need a 'meeting'??
* How do we get a Vermont Marriage License?
* Microphones - Do We NEED These For Our Wedding?
No! I have years of stage experience, I can be as loud as I need to be - 120 people atop Jay Peak have had no trouble hearing me!! If you feel you want a sound system for your ceremony, I recommend that you work with either your venue or your music provider (as I do not provide equipment), but...
>> I cannot use a handheld microphone while holding my folder with your ceremony, any readings, your rings, etc... Handheld microphones may be fine for speeches, news and sports interviews, but they are a terrible look for weddings (and, your wedding pictures)!
>> I also do not recommend a 'stand mike' perched between the wedding couple - a terrible look for what should be the beautiful pictures of your ceremony! (They can be a reasonable option off to the side for any readers, however.)
>> The only good option if you feel that you need amplification is a discreet clip-on wireless lapel mic!
